Want To Comment?

I welcome your comments about my BLOG. I really do. Send them on.

Unfortunately, I’ve had to disable the commenting mechanism built into WordPress, the blogging software used here. When I published my very first post, it was mere minutes until I had my first “comment” which was spam of some kind. So I disabled comments straightaway.

In retrospect, I would have been really brutal in reviewing comments and allowed very few to be posted along with my own published material. This is, after all, my forum. If you want your thoughts and comments on line, go start your own BLOG. There are many, many, many fora promoting a statist, authoritarian world-view. This forum is for me to promote my libertarian world-view and whatever else I throw in. I don’t really care to dilute my own message by cluttering it up with opposing opinions —unless, of course, I find it amusing to hold your opinion up to ridicule.

That being said, I do welcome your comments and, if your comments are in fact noteworthy, I will add to my published posts, inserting your comments and my response to them. A word to the wise, if you can’t stand the heat, you may want to hold your comments, because I may just refute anything you say and poke holes in your arguments if you think I’m wrong about something. And I get the last word.

Of course, if you can present evidence to disprove something I’ve said, by all means do. I’m always happy to learn something new and perfectly willing to admit when I’m wrong. But you have to provide evidence —real, legitimate, authoritative evidence. Opinion and conjecture won’t sway me. I want proof.

I welcome comments that provide additional insight into the topics about which I post. And, being a mere human, I’m sure I have let the occasional typo or misspelling creep into my posts. If you find one, by all means, point it out so I can correct it. (And thanks.)

Of course, I do welcome ordinary comments of the “Way to go!” or “You’re full of it!” variety. Just don’t expect to see them added to my posts.
