For years politicians have been convincing Americans that a) We can have it all and b) Some one else will pay for it.

Hardly anyone, it seems, has a problem with raising someone else’s taxes.

It is a measure of the mindset of the congress that many give-away programs are referred to as “entitlements” and letting the taxpayers keep some of their own money is an “expenditure.”
